光的轨道角动量是光的一个独特特性,它与光场的特定空间分布相联系。本文探讨将涡旋光镊科研成果转化为教学,并演示了光的轨道角动量。实验采用液晶空间光调制器对光场相位进行调制,生成涡旋光束实现对酵母细胞的旋转操控。通过该实验,学生观察到光的轨道角动量致酵母细胞公转现象,并研究拓扑荷正负值和酵母细胞旋转方向的关系以及拓扑荷数值大小和酵母细胞旋转速度的关系。该实验直观地展示了涡旋光的轨道角动量产生的力学效应,使学生对光的轨道角动量有了更深入的理解。同时通过实验的探索,拓宽学生的眼界,激发学生的科研兴趣,培养学生的创新能力。
Abstract:The orbital angular momentum of light is a unique property of light, which is related to the specific spatial distribution of the light field. This paper explores the transformation of the scientific research results of vortex optical tweezers into teaching and demonstrates the orbital angular momentum of light. The experiment uses a liquid crystal spatial light modulator to modulate the phase of the light field to generate a vortex beam to achieve rotational manipulation of yeast cells. Through this experiment, students can observe the phenomenon of yeast cell revolution caused by the orbital angular momentum of light, and study the relationship between positive and negative topological charges and the rotation direction of yeast cells, and the relationship between the value of topological charges and the rotation speed of yeast cells. This experiment intuitively demonstrates the mechanical effects generated by the orbital angular momentum of vortex light, allowing students to have a deep understanding of the orbital angular momentum of light. At the same time, through experimental exploration, it broadens students' horizons, stimulates their interest in scientific research, and cultivates their innovative ability.
